The UNESCO Chair MTU has established a collaborative partnership with the Mauritius Sports Council (MSC) to advance inclusive policies and programs in Mauritius. With a shared vision, Mauritius has gained significant governmental support in aligning its 'Active Mauritius' policy with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Human Rights treaties.
Dr. Gerard Masdeu, a UNESCO Chair MTU researcher, will be working in Mauritius for a duration of 12 weeks to consolidate Active Mauritius programmes by accomplishing the following objectives:
Assisting in the development of a robust Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework to effectively document sport-based interventions related to the national physical activity and sports policy.
Providing support in implementing the MEL Framework to strengthen the integration of human rights principles in sports.
Creating and delivering capacity building resources tailored for key stakeholders involved in promoting inclusive sports.
Undertaking collaborative research initiatives in partnership with local stakeholders to drive evidence-based practices and innovations."
